The Haywards Heath Horticultural Society holds evening meetings on the third Thursday of each month, from September to May, with illustrated talks, films demonstrations etc, on a wide variety of horticultural and associated subjects.

The meetings take place in St Wilfrid’s Centenary Hall, St Wilfrid’s Way, Haywards Heath, RH16 3QH commencing at 7.15pm for 7.45pm.

Admission is £2 for Members and £3 for visitors.

There is no charge for members under 18.

Tea or Coffee and biscuit are included at no extra cost.

There is a raffle at each meeting and also at the Shows referred to below.

At most meetings and the Shows there will be plants for sale at very reasonable prices! These are plants which have been raised by members. We hope also to have surplus seeds available. The AGM in October is followed either by a quiz or an illustrated talk.

The Annual Membership Subscriptions payable by the end of October each year are currently at the rate of £7.50 per person up to the age of 74 and £5 per person aged 75 and over. The ‘junior’ membership rate is £5 and the rate for couples of any age is £10.

The Society is affiliated to the following societies:

Royal Horticultural Society

National Chrysanthemum Society

National Daffodil Society

National Dahlia Society

The Delphinium Society

Royal National Rose Society

The South-East England Daffodil Group

National Sweet Pea Society

National Vegetable Society.

In addition to the monthly meetings we hold 3 Shows each year called Spring, Summer and Autumn and for dates and details please follow the links. There is also an all-day outing and an evening visit to a local garden. These are detailed on the Programme.

The Society has been asked whether members have any spare plant pots of 1.5litres or greater. If you have any you no longer wish to keep Karoline (tel: 01444 482018) who runs a local plant raising business in Lindfield with her colleague Rachel, would be pleased to collect them.
